A letter from the Editor

MISSIVE

noun

An official, formal, or long letter.

Official? Certainly.

Formal? We'll do our best.

Long? We'll let you be the judge.

Welcome to the Fae Style Missive.

The Missive is where Fae Style continues to share fantasy-inspired living between our annual collector's print editions.

We wanted to create this space because fantasy isn't something we should experience only in the pages of a book. It's the places we travel, the food we share, the homes we create, the games we play, and the little rituals that make ordinary days feel just a little more magical. So while a missive might traditionally be one long letter, the Fae Style Missive will arrive throughout the year in smaller moments. Stories, ideas and inspiration shared across our seven pillars of food and drink, home and DIY, wellness, books, gaming, travel and fashion.

So... the first Missive.

A simple hello from me to you.

To you, dear reader, probably just waiting for your three-chapter training montage.

Let me introduce myself. I'm Ella, the new Editor in Chief of Fae Style.

Like you, I want a world filled with fantasy. I might not have a dragon or a 700-year-old Fae prince (yet), but I can still bring a little fantasy into everyday life. Sometimes that's through books. Sometimes it's a cosy reading nook, a recipe inspired by a favourite story, or planning a trip that feels like stepping into another world. That's what Fae Style has always been about, and it's why I'm so excited to help shape what comes next.

If you're new to Fae Style, let me tell you a story.

Fae Style was born from the magical mind of our founder, Carly Vidal Wallace (Celestial Fantasy Events), to bring enchantment into everyday life.

With an exclusive first edition in 2025, Fae Style found its way onto bookshelves, coffee tables and bedside stacks across the world. Within its pages, you discovered the art of bookshelf wealth, dreamed about planning your own fantasy wedding in Middle-earth, or perhaps found yourself wandering into the smuttiest corners of romantasy in the elusive Chapter 55. Or maybe you simply found a little piece of yourself somewhere in its pages.

Volume One really was something special.

Having contributed to Volume One as a writer myself, stepping into the role of Editor feels less like beginning a new story and more like turning the page into the next chapter.

My promise to you is simple: to help guide Fae Style forward with warmth, curiosity and a healthy dose of mischief, while staying true to the heart of what was created.

If you're returning to Fae Style, you'll be excited to know that Volume Two is officially underway, and you'll be able to get your hands on it in 2027.

But what about 2026?

We're not waiting until 2027 to keep sharing the wonder. From the Fae Style team and our wonderful guest writers, you can expect book recommendations, recipes, interviews, behind-the-scenes glimpses, seasonal inspiration, creative projects, thoughtful opinions and all sorts of fantasy-inspired content along the way. We also have a few exciting plans that we'll be sharing later this year, and honestly, we can't wait to tell you about them.

Whether you're a reader, writer, artist, gamer, traveller, or simply someone who believes a little more wonder belongs in everyday life, I hope you'll find something here that feels like home. This little corner of the internet is just getting started, and I'm so glad you're here from the very beginning.

Until next time, may your tea be the perfect temperature, may your next read find you exactly when you need it, and may a little wonder follow you wherever you go.

Stay magical,

Ella Marie Tomkins
Editor in Chief, Fae Style
